Care Companion XR helps to ease the burden of understanding the hospital care your loved one is receiving. This application uses Augmented Reality (AR) to educate in a more interactive and exploratory way. Using AR, you can learn about hospital equipment and care in an exploratory way, preparing you to visit your loved one at the hospital.
How it works:
- Use your phone’s camera to scan the ground and place a 3D representation of the hospital equipment into your environment.
- With the equipment placed in your environment, you can then walk around the area with a hands-on approach to becoming informed.
- Interact with the equipment on-screen and pull up informational panels about each piece of the hospital equipment including use cases and safety information.
- Each informational panel tells you about the roles of the hospital staff as it pertains to that piece of equipment. Additionally, the Care Team panel gives you more general information, covering roles of the nurses, doctors, (and more).
